Contour FoundryMAPS FOR MAKING

FROM DOWNLOAD TO FINISHED PIECE

Where to print,
frame or build your map.

Contour Foundry supplies the digital files. These independent services and local options can help turn them into a poster, framed print, laser-cut project or 3D city model.

POSTERS & LAKE ART

Print it. Frame it. Keep it.

Use the high-resolution JPG or PNG from the map poster or lake poster studio. Choose a print size with the same proportions as the downloaded image.

3D CITY MAPS

Send your city to a 3D printer.

The 3D city studio supplies STL and OBJ geometry authored in millimetres. Upload the model, confirm its dimensions and inspect the provider’s model check before ordering.

Terrain file note: the terrain studio supplies SVG contour layers and PNG heightmaps, not a terrain STL. Use its files with a laser, CNC or compatible image-to-relief workflow.

STREET & TERRAIN MAPS

Cut, engrave or build in layers.

SVG files contain the artwork, but the production service still needs your intended size, material and instructions for cutting, scoring or engraving.

BEFORE YOU ORDER

A five-minute check can save a reprint.

  1. 01

    Extract the ZIP

Upload the finished JPG, PNG, STL, OBJ or SVG inside the package rather than the ZIP unless the provider specifically requests it.

  2. 02

    Confirm size and units

Match poster proportions and confirm millimetres for 3D and vector files. Never rely on an automatic “fit” option without reviewing the result.

  3. 03

    Inspect the provider preview

Look for unwanted cropping, very thin streets, detached pieces, tiny buildings and any warning about model walls or resolution.

  4. 04

    Choose the physical finish

Paper, frame, material thickness, print process and color all affect the finished result. Ask the provider when you are unsure.
